Tricks Class

Looking for a fun challenge? Spice up your training with Tricks Class! Trick training is a fabulous way to provide mental and physical exercise while building confidence and bonding with your dog. Our Certified Trick Dog Instructor will lead you through a catalogue of tricks including (but not limited to) roll over, bow, spin, weave, back up, crawl, sit pretty, figure 8, hoop jump, peekaboo, roll out the red carpet and more! You can work towards achieving your dog’s Novice Trick Dog title through Do More With Your Dog! or play just for fun.

Prerequisite: previous training class experience is an asset

Find It! – Foundation Nose Work

In Find It! class, you will put your dog’s natural scenting abilities to work. Nose work is a great way for your dog to have fun, build confidence, and burn lots of mental and physical energy.

The foundation level will provide an introduction to odour for dogs and handlers through container searches. We will focus on proper handling of odour and equipment, leash handing, reinforcement and learning how to read your dog's alert signals.

We will follow the rules of The Sporting Detection Dogs Association and Wintergreen (Gaultharia procumbens) will be our target odour.  A take-home scent kit will be provided to each participant.

Find It! – Continuing Nose Work

Find It! - Foundation graduates will continue with creative container searches and will move forward with full interior room searches and outdoor work. We will learn about the ways in which odour can move and continue to learn about each dog's alert signals.   

Prerequisite: Find It! - Foundation
